Cationic Waste Water Coagulant
Description
Product Description
LAB 755 is a liquid cationic coagulant designed for water clarification, thickening, and filtration in mining and industrial wastewater systems. It destabilises fine suspended solids by reducing particle surface charge, collapsing the electrical double layer, and enabling coagulation through polyelectrolyte bridging. The product is particularly effective for treating coal‑plant effluents and iron‑ore slimes, where particles carry strong negative charges that normally resist settling.
Product Benefits
- Highly effective primary cationic coagulant
- Promotes rapid settling and clear water
- Useful for clarifying coal plant effluents, iron‑ore slimes, clays, bentonites, and chemical precipitates
- Enhances performance when used before anionic polymers
- Can be used alone or in combination with inorganic coagulants, nonionic, or anionic polyelectrolytes
- Suitable for surface‑mine runoff, raw industrial waters, residues from ore digestion, organic wastes, and sewage
Application
- Meter continuously using a corrosion‑resistant positive‑displacement pump.
- Dilute 5:1 to 50:1 with clean water before feeding to the process.
- Add as close as possible to the separation point while allowing enough contact time for floc formation.
- Thorough mixing is essential for maximum efficiency.
Typical treatment levels:
- Surface‑mine runoff: 0.0002% to 0.005%, depending on the nature of fines.
Typical properties:
- Appearance: Clear to slightly hazy liquid
- Specific gravity (25 °C): 1.10–1.20
- pH: 2.0–3.0
- Water solubility: Infinite
- Effective chemical charge: Cationic
