12% Liquid Chlorine Bleach
Description
Product Discription:
CHLOR 12 is a commercial grade liquid chlorine bleach containing twelve point five percent sodium hypochlorite. It is a greenish yellow liquid with a strong chlorine odour and functions as a powerful oxidising agent.
Sodium hypochlorite is inherently unstable and will decompose over time when exposed to heat and light. CHLOR 12 contains a small quantity of caustic soda to stabilise the solution and maintain effectiveness during its service life.
The product releases chlorine gas if mixed with acids and must be handled strictly in accordance with safety guidelines. CHLOR 12 is widely used across laundry, food processing and agricultural applications where strong bleaching or sanitising performance is required.

Laundry Use
Prepare a stock bleach solution to achieve one to two percent available chlorine.
Ensure CHLOR 12 stock is less than four months old or allow for degradation when calculating dosage. Refer to chlorine residual data when adjusting concentrations.
Best results are achieved by bleaching in the final rinse using a medium dip at sixty degrees Celsius for seven minutes. Bleaching may also be performed during the wash cycle; however, wash temperatures must not exceed sixty five degrees Celsius, as higher temperatures may cause fabric damage.
CHLOR 12 should not be used on polyester fabrics, as chlorine is ineffective at stain removal on polyester. Oxygen based bleaches should be used for these materials.
Dairy Industry Use
In accordance with Australian Standard AS 1087 1991:
Solutions containing twelve point five percent sodium hypochlorite should not be used if more than four months have elapsed since the date of analysis. If more than three months have elapsed, solution strengths should be increased to maintain germicidal activity.
Sanitising should be carried out at ambient temperatures and not more than thirty minutes prior to plant use, as heat accelerates chlorine decomposition.
