Description

Product Description

Film‑Away is a potassium‑based powdered wine‑tank and general‑purpose cleaner designed for sodium‑free winery systems. It is a free‑flowing off‑white powder made from mild alkaline salts, low‑foaming surfactants, chelating agents, water conditioners, and anti‑corrosive components. It removes tartrate deposits, red‑wine staining, and protein residues while remaining safe for stainless steel, glass, plastics, ceramics, aluminium, galvanised surfaces, and most painted surfaces. The formulation is non‑toxic, non‑flammable, low‑dusting, environmentally friendly, fast‑dissolving, and suitable for CIP spray‑ball systems.

Product Benefits

  • One‑step concentrated cleaner with no neutralisation required
  • Highly soluble, fast dissolving, low‑dusting formulation
  • Reduces water, energy, and labour due to free‑rinsing behaviour
  • Low‑foaming, fast‑draining, and safe to handle
  • Non‑DG, non‑toxic, non‑fuming, and safe in hot or cold water
  • Effective at 25 °C; faster cleaning at 50–60 °C
  • Safe for stainless steel and most winery surfaces
  • Environmentally preferable — contains no sodium, phosphates, or chlorine
  • Leaves surfaces clean, non‑tainted, streak‑free, and spot‑free

Application

Cold‑Water Cleaning

  1. Allow tartrates to reach room temperature without drying.
  2. Pre‑rinse the tank from top to bottom to remove loose tartar deposits.
  3. Prepare CIP solution at 1.0–1.5% w/v (1.0–1.5 kg per 100 L).
  4. Circulate through the tank; maintain strong pump pressure.
  5. Monitor pH every 20 minutes. When pH reaches 7.5, the solution is spent.
  6. Remove loosened deposits during the cycle and clean valves, hoses, and fittings using the same solution.
  7. Rinse with fresh water until all residues are removed and pH is below 7.5.
  8. Apply a sanitising rinse before recommissioning.

Hot‑Water Cleaning

  1. Circulate 60–70 °C water first to soften tartar and remove acidic residues.
  2. Drain while warm, then prepare a reduced‑strength Film‑Away solution at 1.0–1.5% w/v.
  3. Circulate as per the cold‑water method.
  4. Complete with a fresh‑water rinse and sanitising rinse.

Solubility Notes

  • Dissolves rapidly in hot water: ~1½ minutes at 60 °C (2%).
  • Dissolves quickly at ambient temperature: ~4 minutes at 25 °C (3%).
