CARNAUBA ULTRA NATURAL (W-EU) is a high solids carnauba wax emulsion designed for use as a post harvest coating for apples. The formulation is free from morpholine and shellac and has been developed to meet European Union coating requirements.

The product is suitable for both export and domestic fruit shipments. It provides improved resistance to whitening and hazing while helping to reduce weight loss associated with long term cold storage.

When fruit is transferred from cold storage to warm or humid environments, condensation or sweating may occur. CARNAUBA ULTRA NATURAL (W-EU) is specifically formulated to minimise the risk of whitening under these conditions while maintaining a consistent, attractive finish.

Application

CARNAUBA ULTRA NATURAL (W-EU) is best applied through Micron 2000 waxing equipment.

Ensure apples are clean and completely dry before waxing. Correct preparation prior to application is critical to achieving a long lasting, high quality finish.

Application Rate

Apply at a rate of eight hundred millilitres to one litre per tonne of fruit.

Actual application rates may vary depending on equipment, fruit condition and desired finish.

With regard to use as a food additive under Standard One point Three point One of the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code and Standard Two point Three point One for surface treated fruit and vegetables:

• Raw materials and ingredients are permitted food additives under Schedule One of the Code, or

• Meet the identity and purity requirements of Standard One point Three point Four Clause One, or

• Are classified as Generally Regarded As Safe by the United States Food and Drug Administration, or

• Are recognised under Title Twenty One of the United States Code of Federal Regulations as indirect food additives
