Description

Product Description

Green Mortar Wash is a concentrated mild‑acid cleaner designed to remove cement mortar, lime, and other mineral residues from masonry surfaces. It is formulated as a safer, low‑hazard alternative to harsh acids and is suitable for use on brick, tile, concrete, and similar construction materials. The product softens and removes excess mortar and construction dirt, reduces the likelihood of efflorescence, is easy to rinse, and does not require neutralising on most surfaces. It is safe for most glass, metal, and painted surfaces when used at the correct dilution, though care should be taken with softer alloys.

Product Benefits

  • Effective replacement for stronger, harsher acid cleaners
  • Removes excess mortar, grout smears, lime, and mineral residues
  • Reduces the risk of efflorescence
  • Easy to rinse and generally does not require neutralising
  • Suitable for a wide range of masonry substrates
  • Low‑hazard and compliant with environmental and OHS standards
  • Contains no VOCs and is not classified as hazardous or dangerous
  • Environmentally responsible and site‑safe

Application

Preparation

  • Test on a small, inconspicuous area before full application.
  • Best results occur when cleaning within 7–10 days of installation.
  • Do not allow mortar or grout residues to dry excessively; hydrated deposits are easier to remove.

Dilution

  • Dilute between 1:6 and 1:15, depending on substrate and soil level.
  • Refer to the included dilution table for specific substrates (e.g., concrete, brick, tile, granite, sandstone, slate, bluestone).

Application Steps

  1. Apply using a low‑pressure spray (max 40 PSI) or a soft‑fibred masonry brush.
  2. Avoid pressure application above 50 PSI, which may drive cleaner into the substrate.
  3. Allow the product to work briefly on the surface.
  4. Rinse thoroughly using 400–1000 PSI water pressure at 20–30 L/min with a 15–45° fan tip.
  5. Ensure thorough rinsing to prevent residues or uneven cleaning.
